Welcome!

Well, here we are. I started this blog because I know a lot of friends and family want to stay up to date on how the girls are doing. This was the easiest way, I thought, to do it. So, come on in and make yourself at home. I plan to update as often as I possibly can. I plan to also use this as a way of documenting the lives of my beautiful baby girls.

Let me get everyone up to speed on what's been going on. Kayla and Rebecca were born on December 9th, 2009 at 6:23 AM and 6:25 AM at 31 weeks (almost 8 months). Kayla weighed in at 3lb 2 oz and Rebecca was 3lb 6 oz. Kayla had some intestinal issues that required surgery to have an ostomy placed at one week old. An ostomy is basically a hole they create in the abdomen allowing you to poop from that hole instead of the natural way, if you know what I mean. Well, yesterday she had the ostomy reversed and she is doing great! Now all she needs to do is start eating and pooping like a regular baby and we are in business! She will hopefully be going home is about 2 weeks. Rebecca is already home and doing great. She can't wait to see her sister!

We have been going back and forth from the hospital since the girls were born. Actually, Ross has been going back and forth since 11/16/09 which is when I was placed on hospital bedrest. We are SOOO ready for Kayla to come home!!! We are so ready for our family to be together under one roof! =)

Well, that is all for now. I will try to update this as things happen. Have a great day. =D
